  • Any age dog welcome

  • All dogs must be up to date with their annual vaccinations, including Kennel Cough

What You and Your Dog Will Learn

Our Improver Behaviour Classes are designed to take your training further while continuing to track progress through our Jamie Pound Dog Training Progression Book. Dogs earn rosettes as they pass each grade.

In Grades 2 and 3, we focus on:

  • Emergency stop

  • Distance control

  • Sending your dog to a marker point

  • Sit & down stays with longer duration

  • Search and retrieve to hand

  • Loose lead walking with turns

  • Plus much more

You’ll receive your grade cards, and you can remain in this class for as long as you wish — working at your own pace. Classes run in line with local school terms, with breaks at half-term.

What to Bring With You on the Day

  • Flat collar/harness and lead (no extendable leads please)

  • Plenty of high-value treats (chicken, hot dog, ham, cheese – soft and smelly works best!)

  • Poo bags

  • Your dog!

Terms and Conditions

Payment for classes - payment for a block of 6 or 8 consecutive weeks, non attendance will result in a loss of that week (unless the class is cancelled by Chorleywood Dog Training in which case we will carry the class payment forward to the end of your block)

Payments for classes are non refundable and non transferable.

ALL DOGS MUST BE ON LEAD AT ALL TIMES, THIS IS NON NEGOTIABLE, REGARDLESS OF IF YOUR DOG HAS A GOOD RECALL AND FRIENDLY WITH OTHER DOGS.

Any injury to a person or a dog is the sole responsibility of the owner.

We have a variety of dogs with a variety of issues that come to us and we want everyone to feel comfortable and enjoy themselves at our training classes, please do NOT allow your dog to interact/ play with any other dogs despite if they are friendly. If you wish for your dog to play with another please arrange to meet up away from the training ground.

It is the owners responsibility to keep up to date with your dogs annual vaccinations. Due to the number of dogs we have at our training ground we would ask that your dog has the Kennel Cough vaccination.

Puppy Vaccinations - Puppies must of had their 1st set of vaccinations before attending our classes, this is done at the discretion of the owner. All clients must be aware that our classes may have mixed levels of vaccinated puppies attending. By agreeing to these terms and conditions you are agreeing that you understand the risks and accept full reponsibility for any illness that may occur.

We use the Yellow Dog "I NEED SPACE" scheme in our classes, if you see a dog with a yellow, lead cover or bandanna please give that dog and owner plenty of space. There are a whole number of reasons why a dog may be wearing a yellow dog marker, it may mean they are nervous, recovering from an injury, excitable or reactive to other dogs. If you would like your dog to have a Yellow Dog marker please let one of the instructors know at the beginning of the class and before you get your dog out of the car.

Please ensure you arrive on time for you class to avoid any disruption to the other dogs and owners that are already working.

Should you have any doubt if training may be cancelled e.g. weather conditions etc., please call check your emails, txts, voicemails, we will also have notifications on Facebook.

If your dog goes to the toilet on our training ground, please bag it up and take it home with you. WE APOLOGISE BUT WE CAN NO LONGER DISPOSE OF YOUR DOGS MESS. Please DO NOT ALLOW YOUR DOGS TO URINATE ON OUR EQUIPMENT due to hygeine reasons, however we know accidents happen so if this does happen please bring it to the attention of one of the instructors so we can provide you with the products to clean it up, please do not just leave it.

Children are very welcome to attend training classes, we encourage the whole family to participate in their dogs training, however due to the nature of our business we ask that children stay with their parents, no running around, they must not approach other dogs or play with/on any equipment. It is the parents sole responsibility for their childs safety.

WE TAKE SOME GREAT PICTURES AND VIDEOS THROUGHOUT OUR CLASSES PLEASE FOLLOW AND LIKE OUR FACEBOOK PAGE WHERE WE REGULARLY UPLOAD OUR PICTURES.

IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO HAVE YOURS/YOUR DOGS PICTURE TO BE TAKEN AND PUT ON FACEBOOK PLEASE LET US KNOW.

We have been attending Chorleywood dog training for quite a while. I love these classes as they are a mixture of behaviour training and agility. The trainers are all great and what is really nice is that the lessons are fun and not too serious yet we have also learnt so much. I would highly recommend these classes, we will continue to come along for as long as we can as Roxy is forever learning something new and as an owner I have also learnt lots.

Enzo started in the puppy class and has now progressed through Behaviour 1 to the Behavior Grade 2. We all love the classes - great friendly atmosphere - learning new, challenging and FUN activities every week in a great location. Well balanced and interesting and an opportunity for dogs and humans to make new friends. Lots of group and individual advice to help develop a successful working relationship between us and our dog. Useful behaviours which translate to home and out on walks. Thanks Jamie and Gemma. Keep up the good work. A, M and E.
