Loose Lead Walking Workshop
Pulling on the lead is by far the number one issue owners face. Many dogs make walks stressful, uncomfortable, and even back-breaking — not to mention the negative physical and mental effects it can have on them too.
What You’ll Learn
Our Loose Lead Walking Workshop is designed to give you the tools and confidence to transform your walks. We’ll cover a variety of practical, effective exercises that you can take away and use both on walks and at home, helping you enjoy calmer, more relaxed outings with your dog.
What to Bring
-
Your dog’s favourite rewards (food & toys — and plenty of them!)
-
Harness, lead, and flat collar
-
A suitable rest area for your dog (car/crate)
-
Water & bowl
-
Poo bags
Who’s It For?
Absolutely everyone! Suitable for all dogs, all ages, and all abilities. Whether you’ve got a new puppy learning the ropes or an older dog who’s built up habits over time, this workshop will set you both up for loose lead success.
How to Find Us
Please see here for directions on how to find us
- Please bring plenty of small soft treats that you are happy giving your dog with you such as hot dog, cheese, chicken, ham etc
- Bowls of water for your dogs will be placed by the tent, feel free to take them for a drink at any point if you feel they need it.
- Toilet facilities - there is a disabled toilet situated on the side of the glass fronted barn on the right as you come down driveway.
- Children are welcome to come to training classes but their safety is the sole responsibility of the parent or guardian. Please do not allow children to approach other dogs at training or to play on/ with equipment.
- If your dog goes to the toilet please bag it up and leave in the bin provided by the tent, please do not leave poo bags on the training ground.
- Our car park is at the end of the driveway, if its your first time with us we will direct you. You may park behind our vans if you wish to put your dogs away for tea break, there is limited space so if your dog is ok with being tethered by the tent please be considerate of those that may need to park a bit closer.
- When tethering your dog by the tent at tea break please ensure they are tethered securely and with a reasonably short lead so there is enough distance between dogs.
- If your dog requires a yellow dog “I NEED SPACE” lead cover please let us know at the beginning of the class. Please return any lead covers/bandanas at the end of class. For more information on Yellow Dog there are leaflets in our tent or ask a member of the team.
- We may have dogs that require a little extra space so before approaching another dog please ask the owner if it is ok to do so.
- When using long lines please ensure you attach the long line before disconnecting your lead so that you always have a point of contact with your dog. Keep long lines relatively short unless otherwise instructed to avoid your longline getting tangled with another dogs longline.
