Loose Lead Walking Workshop
By far the number one issue that people come to us for, many dogs pull on the lead making for a stressful, back breaking walk as well as having detrimental effects on our dogs, Physically and mentally.

What you will learn...
  • Our Loose Lead walking workshop is designed to give you the tools and knowledge to implement the training methods out on your walks. We will run through a range of exercises for you to then practice out on walks and at home.

What to bring...
  • DOGS FAVOURITE REWARDS FOOD/TOY (plenty of treats will be needed!)
  • HARNESS, LEAD, FLAT COLLAR
  • SUITABLE REST AREA FOR YOUR DOG (CAR/CRATE)
  • WATER & BOWL FOR YOUR DOG
  • POO BAGS
Who is it for...
Everyone! All dogs, all ages, all abilities.

  • Please bring plenty of small soft treats that you are happy giving your dog with you such as hot dog, cheese, chicken, ham etc
  • Bowls of water for your dogs will be placed by the tent, feel free to take them for a drink at any point if you feel they need it.
  • Toilet facilities - there is a disabled toilet situated on the side of the glass fronted barn on the right as you come down driveway.
  • Children are welcome to come to training classes but their safety is the sole responsibility of the parent or guardian. Please do not allow children to approach other dogs at training or to play on/ with equipment.
  • If your dog goes to the toilet please bag it up and leave in the bin provided by the tent, please do not leave poo bags on the training ground.
  • Our car park is at the end of the driveway, if its your first time with us we will direct you. You may park behind our vans if you wish to put your dogs away for tea break, there is limited space so if your dog is ok with being tethered by the tent please be considerate of those that may need to park a bit closer.
  • When tethering your dog by the tent at tea break please ensure they are tethered securely and with a reasonably short lead so there is enough distance between dogs.
  • If your dog requires a yellow dog “I NEED SPACE” lead cover please let us know at the beginning of the class. Please return any lead covers/bandanas at the end of class. For more information on Yellow Dog there are leaflets in our tent or ask a member of the team.
  • We may have dogs that require a little extra space so before approaching another dog please ask the owner if it is ok to do so.
  • When using long lines please ensure you attach the long line before disconnecting your lead so that you always have a point of contact with your dog. Keep long lines relatively short unless otherwise instructed to avoid your longline getting tangled with another dogs longline.

This was a useful and fun workshop. We picked up handy hints for getting our spaniel to stop pulling and he enjoyed it too! We've been putting what we learned into practice and things are improving. Thanks!

The workshop has helped both me and Maggie tremendously. I hated walking Maggie on the lead but since putting what we learnt into practise lead walking is slowly becoming more enjoyable. There is still a long way to go but I feel confident that with the continual training I can now give her that the end to the constant pulling could be in sight.

Buddy and I enjoyed this workshop, together we made progress with Buddy learning to walk without pulling. This will obviously make our walks together more enjoyable. I've now got information from Jamie that I'm going to continue to practice. Attending classes such as the Loose Lead and Agility help to create more of a bond between me and Buddy as we learn together.
